Woods & Co have partnered with one of Melbourne’s leaders in sustainable waste management, to source an experienced
Business Development Manager to join their team in the North-West Metropolitan region. As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving growth, expanding the company’s supplier base, and fostering sustainable practices to further the company’s commitment to a circular economy.
What’s in it for you? - $80,000 - $90,000 + Super + Commission (OTE $120,000)

What do you do? - Strategic Growth: Develop and execute strategies to enhance paper and cardboard recycling efforts, aligning with the company’s sustainability mission.
- Operational Excellence: Collaborate with operations to ensure service standards are met or exceeded.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and recycling partners.
- Sustainability Leadership: Lead initiatives to boost recycling rates, reduce waste, and support sustainable practices across the supply chain.
- Data-Driven Insights: Track and analyse performance metrics, providing insights to guide decision-making.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities meet relevant waste management and environmental regulations.
What do you need? - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications in waste management or sustainability are a plus).
- At least 5 years’ experience in waste management, recycling, or environmental sustainability (experience with Australian regulations is preferred).
- Strong understanding of recycling processes, especially in paper recovery.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to build partnerships and manage stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management software.
