Business Development Manager with freight forwarding experience to join a multifaceted business with an excelling freight and logistics arm. This role is perfect for a driven sales professional with a deep understanding of international logistics and a proven ability to build long-term client relationships.
Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing tailored logistics solutions, and nurturing long-term relationships with key clients.

Key Responsibilities: - Identify and secure new business opportunities across all transport modes (air and ocean freight)
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, cold calling, and networking
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities within the logistics industry
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers
- Prepare and present customised logistics solutions, sales proposals, and quotations
- Negotiate competitive rates, terms, and conditions with clients
- Work closely with operations and pricing teams to ensure smooth service delivery
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM system
What Do you need? - 5+ years of experience in sales or business development within the freight forwarding or logistics sector
- Strong understanding of international trade, customs regulations, and freight forwarding operations
- Proficiency in rate calculations and proposal preparation
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and travel as required
- Experience using CargoWise is highly regarded
