Woods & Co Recruitment has partnered with an established Middle Eastern restaurant that has been delighting guests for close to 20 years. With a reputation for excellence, this establishment offers an exciting opportunity for a talented Head Chef to bring structure, leadership, and a collaborative spirit to their kitchen. Working closely with the current Head Chef, you’ll ensure the continuation of a menu that blends tradition with modern flair, while overseeing the dynamic offerings of a new wine bar and implementing a systematic framework for success.
This restaurant is renowned for its charcoal meats, seafood, and vibrant vegetable and grain dishes, all complemented by an extensive wine list of over 100 Middle Eastern and Australian heritage wines. With an inviting private dining room, an events space, and the ability to host groups of 20-80, this is a venue that thrives on delivering memorable experiences.
What’s in it for you? - $80,000 - $90,000 + Super (45 Hours Per Week).
- Collaborate with the current Head Chef to refine operations without the pressure of immediate change.
- Implement structure & lead the team to create a well-organised and cohesive kitchen.
- Work with a stable menu while contributing to the dynamic wine bar offerings.
- Start in the new year, with daily dinner service hours from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

What do you do? - Guide and mentor the team, ensuring smooth operations and a positive work culture.
- Implement systems to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage stock, inventory, and daily kitchen activities, maintaining exceptional food quality and consistency.
- Work hand-in-hand with the current Head Chef and management team to align kitchen operations with the restaurant’s vision.
- Be hands-on in food preparation, upholding the high standards that define this restaurant.
- Train staff, provide feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
What do you need? - Proven ability to manage and mentor a team in a busy kitchen environment.
- Expertise in implementing and maintaining efficient kitchen systems and processes.
- Respect for the current menu and operations while bringing fresh energy and structure.
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and menu execution, with a focus on quality and consistency.
- Experience and understanding of Middle Eastern cuisine and flavours.
- A flexible approach to transitioning into the role and supporting the existing Head Chef.
